We're still little baby floofs, but we're going to have some floof to brag about in the future. We think this is a very special group to belong to because our sister-before-us was a charter member and she tells us this group was special to her.

I have noticed that Dante is getting his winter coat earlier and earlier each year. Last year it was at the end of August; the year before in September.

Well, it's still July and we're in the midst of a heatwave, and just look what has happened!!!

My First Christmas

My first Christmas was in 2006. I was 8 months old. My mom says I was 8 months going on 8 years because I had been through so much in my kittenhood and I seemed to be a much older soul. That didn't stop me from being a total kitten though. My first Christmas was bittersweet. I was thrilled with all the decorations and the tree and the presents, but the truth was that I lost what was most precious to me on December 26th, 2006. My best friend and mentor, Jonathan. He was elderly and frail. He hung on through Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but he passed away the morning of the 26th. I love you and miss you every single day.

I will start it off i guess. Mai furs Ristmas waz last year. 2008. I had only been at mai noo home fur 2 monfs. Mai sisfur caught mai upper respiratory disease so her was REAL sick last ristmas too (she likes bein sicky fur christmas i guesses) . I remember i wanted ta nom da tree REAL gud but mom bean said nos. Den, SANTA came an brought me a cube caz tesla sneezed green snots all over our old one, so we got noo ones- an den, i got some fuzzy mousie toys and treats too. It was a great furs christmas in mai fureffur home!

Cheyenne-Millie here, this is what I am doing this summer (when I am not busy doing pet insurance comparisons for myself) . I talked my mom into sharing this, since mom wasn't going to post it on my blog. She decided it was kind of silly! Especially when she decided she was going to add my Monty Dog! I told her NO!! NO!! It is mom's contribution to the summer theme. I am way in the back under the umbrella. Sandusky, who is the least floofy and furry of all of us all, is in the front glaring with his laser eyes. That is my very furry sister Spooky beside him! We think it would be great to have this much sand! We hope everyone here is enjoying their summer!

and eating through one small speaker wire, which belonged to their dad.

Hansel Von Long Kitteh wasted no time in blaming his
sweet sweet sister for both cruel acts.

Tesla admits to eating all the greenies, after all,
she was caught in the Ocean Flavored Greenies bag.

But, she said she was innocent as far as the wire
eating went. However, Tesla is known for some destruction.
Her face was put to this crime!

Following further investigation, it was discovered that
sweet Tesla had been framed!
By none other than...
HANSEL VON LONG KITTEH!

His trial will be held at The World Of Hansel
on Thursday, July 23rd 2009

Hansel can face up to one month in jail,

a severe smashing by Tesla The Kitteh."

Summer With The Monkeys

Hello everyone!

Delilah and I are honored to be invited to be members of the Floof and Fur group! We happen to be posting on the first day of Summer (which, coincidentally, is the current theme)

We're from Montreal, Canada and I'm (Samson) almost 3 years old and Delilah is 3. Mommy calls us The Monkeys.

It gets very cold at certain times of the year here. Having lots of floof is an asset in the Winter (even though we're strictly indoor cats) and our Mom appreciates the warmth we emit at night. But in the Summer, it's a whole other story and things can get pretty sticky.

I like to wear my floofy tuxedo all year long:

And Delilah can't escape her snow pants

As all you floofs and furries know, a good brushing is really important. I'm lucky because I love it. Delilah, on the other hand, does not!

We hope you're all staying cool this summer and remember, if it's too hot, try hanging out in the cool ceramic of the sink!

Introducing Melvin!

Melvin is so excited and thankful to be, what looks like, the youngest member of Floof & Fur thus far.

Melvin is a unique little Blue Point Himalayan boy. He is thought to have been born with a genetic disorder known as Primordial Dwarfism. The vet has told us that he will never get to be past 3 pounds. The diagnosis was found with several tests, including x-rays and ultrasounds, that showed us that Melvin's organs are all proportionate to his tiny size. At 2 months Melvin had the heart the size of a 2 week old kitten.

These days, Melvin is growing well, despite showing symptoms of the disorder. Seeing that not much is documented on PD in cats, our vet is using the human symptoms as somewhat of a guide. So Melvin has become somewhat of a learning experience for us all, although this disorder has been arising as somewhat of a fad within the breeding world and used as a marketing technique by calling cats like Melvin "teacup".

Melvin was born on March 17th, 2009. His Gotcha-Day was exactly 2 months after this when he was rescued from his previous owner. To read Melvin's entire story, visit him at his blog, which is updated daily.

INTRODUCING LACOCOON DANTE

Hello Fellow Floofers! My name is Dante and I am a 7 year old Maine Coon classic red tabby. I live with my brofur, Dylan and my sisfur, Domino in a nice house in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (it's the capital, you know).

I was born at the Lacocoon Cattery in Lacolle, Quebec. The first two pictures of me are when I was just born and when I was a toddler at Lacocoon before my purrents picked me up to take me to my furefur home.

You can see me when I was about 6-months old in the third picture (see how long my tail is -- I didn't growed into it yet). This is my house -- I have lots of rooms to wander around and big windows to look out, and a back yard where I can roam free because, as Mama says, gravity and the fence keep me safe. Mama takes me out in the front yard, too on a leash, so I can socialize with all the neighbours and watch things go by on the street. Mama has also taken me to the Petsmart on my leash and peoples are always admiring me when I goes there.

The next picture is my only furmal purrtrait that was taken when I was just one year old. I weighed about 17 lbs. then and my eyes were still an ampurr colour, but I growed more since then and my eyes has changed to green now.

The last picture shows me when I was fully growed at the age of 6. Now I weighs about 22 lbs. I has a furry, furry full coat of floof. I has more in the winter and less in the summer cause I sheds when it's hot.

No summer for this kitty

While most of the kitties living in the northern hemisphere are embracing summer, we in the south are gearing up our floof for winter (BRRRR). Winter in Sydney is not dire – no ice, snow or blizzard. Nonetheless, it still cold, wet and grey.

This means much of the time I curl up in my box with gran’s hand-knitted blanket…

Or if I am lucky, I would catch some occasional rays of the sun.....

Hai! Some of you may knows me already but for those of you who don't I am Baby Patches. I has a blog called da Confessions of the Plume.

I was born April 7th, 2008 and my Gotcha day is July 25th. My momma & daddy founds me on PetFinder.com after they lost a precious kitty to them. It felt likes an empty house wif just my brofur Lucky left to keeps em company. So my sisfur LociLu was first adopted on the 21st and then 4 days later I founds my furever home!

Momma says I has grown up to be quite a floofie fur ladycat. I is very active and hyper Turkish Angora, plus I purrs very loudly. My blog was started when my momma recruited me to be her Chief Kit for SuppliesJust4Pets.com. It is where I gets to tells about my confessions and my daily life as da Chief Kit. I helps momma wif shipping, finding new products, and best of all I gets to test da products!

Hi all! I am named Cheyenne Millie. Thank you for the invite to join this group. I live in Napa, in Northern California. I was abandoned by my first family when they moved away. Mom believes there was a sibling of mine who also was left behind, who was possibly adopted by a family a few doors down. For about 3 or 4 years after my family gave me a home they kept seeing another cat with exact markings like me roaming around the neighborhood. They at first thought it was me and that I had escape. But no, it wasn’t me. I would always still be inside the house. I lived alone outside for about 2 weeks hiding in and around the bushes of what was going to eventually be my new home. Actually, I wasn’t always totally alone for some of that time …. I had all these boy kitties (at least 2 or 3) chasing me up and down the big camphor tree out front of the house for several days. When mom saw what was happening she decided to catch me. They tricked me by putting kitty food in a cage! I have always been kind of shy, and I don’t like to be held or picked up. But, I do like to be pet, and my favorite past time is to sit on the back of the couch, up behind my mom, and fan my floofy tail over her hair letting her know I am there!

Hello! My name is Jasmim, nice to meet you ^^
Me and my mom (Giselle) are newly arrived in this world of blogs, we love everything =) And we are also in this blog in which we were invited to participate, we are quite happy with it!
Me and my mom live in the capital of Brazil, I have only 10 months old! I'm still a teenager kitten ... hehehe
I was a present for my mom, literally! On the day of her birthday, her boyfriend gave me for it, and my mother said that was the best present she had ^^
But for me to get in the house of my mother, sad things happened, which was the death of my brother. At the time he was going home to my mother, missing a week, he died. My mother was very sad, but this is past, and she caught me because I'm his sister, and got a "little piece" of him in me, and it makes my mother happy ^^
We will always feel the absence of my brother!

Hi Everyone! My name is Floyd, and I am 14 years old. My mom got me in 1996 when she moved into her first apartment, from a local no kill shelter. She really wanted a kitten and begged them to let her see me right away, so they let her in after hours, and we met and it was love at first sight for both of us! I am the alpha cat of the house, being the oldest, and mom says I am also the most nurturing and "best mom" of the group, even though I am a boy! I think this is because I get along best with all the cats in the house. Below are a few pictures of me, including and awesome one Zoolatry made for me. You can see in one I am showing off my furry belly - I had to be shaved a while back and I am so happy my fur is finally coming in I have to show it off. And, even though mom thinks I look crabby in my pictures, I am really a happy-go-lucky cat, and the most easy going of the four of us! I am very excited to be a member of Floof & Fur and can't wait to meet everyone!!

I was so surprised tonight to get an invitation to join fluff and fur, but also so pleased. What an honour.

I will tell you a little about me.,,

I was born on 19Th November 2001. Mum was living in a flat that went with her job and was not allowed pets, but had Dollycat who was a secret, Mum looked after a sheltered home for old people and a lot of them knew about Dollycat and loved her.
Mum went with a friend of hers to look at Persian kittens, supposedly for another friend as a surprise. Mum having always loved Gingers of course fell in love with me. The surprise turned out to be on mum as I was given to her for her birthday. Now how to keep me a secret.But mum did and the rest is history, I have been very loved and happy since then.

I will another time tell you a little more but enough for now, before you all fall asleep. lol

Yes, toehawkz! It's summer here, so my toehawkz aren't at their full magnifisense, but I thought it waz time we celebrated this special floofy feature.

Is you floofy? Is your paws so floofy you can go skidding across da floor? Do slinkies joke that you must be bonkers cos your paws have so much floof growing out of dem?

Hi! My name is Ginger and I'm a new member of Floof & Fur. My sister Cory is running for President representing the Floofie party. I have no personal interest in public service, I just want to hang out and be me.
I am about 5 or 6 years old. I came to live with my family in the fall of 2007. It was the end of September and I was discovered under a bush in the backyard. I was meowing a lot and telling my new human friends my whole life story. They asked me if I was hungry and gave me a bowl of food. I dove on it and inhaled everything in sight. That's when they discovered that under all my floof, I was really skinny. My ribs were sticking out. I weighed 10 pounds, but I now weigh between 15 and 16 pounds. I'm a big girl. They think I'm probably a Maine Coon. My new humans tried to see if anyone was looking for me, but no one was. It took me a long time to settle down about food. Now I'm pretty sure that I don't need to inhale anymore. I didn't do so well on my own. If you biggify my picture you can see that my ear is a bit shredded.

Rumor has it that I'm a bit of a drama queen. Everyone thinks it's fun to get a rise out of me. I admit that it's easy to do. I don't apologize for that.

Since I'm rather proud of my fur, here is a close up view of my belly fur!

Hi, my name is Cory and I'm a brand new member of Floof & Fur. I'm also running for President, although I'm not so sure about it. I think I'd rather be Secretary of Socks, but I'll leave that up to the voters.

I started my blog back in September. It took over a month for me to figure out there was something called the catblogosphere, so I was just writing for myself until The Creek Cats and Gandalf and Grayson came along to help me figure things out. I love all of the friends I have met.

When I was a weensy little baby, my momma Ellie and I were abandoned and left to fend for ourselves. My momma had 6 wee kittens to care for and we all survived. We were rescued by a nice rescue organization in Tillamook Oregon called United Paws and we were fostered by a nice lady named Judy. Our story and pictures were posted on petfinder.com and that is how my forever family found me. My momma and all my siblings were Siamese and I was the only one with all black fur. Which makes me part Meezer, part House Panther and part Floof and Fur! No one wanted to adopt me because the silly people advertised us as "Siamese" and I didn't quite fit. So when my mom and dad were adopting my momma Ellie, they couldn't bear to separate us, so both my momma and I both hopped into the carrier that took us to our forever home.

I have a weakness for my daddy's boot socks, small fruits and vegetables, bugs and aged cheddar. I also love to sing in the middle of the night when no one is watching. As I get older my fur gets floofier.

I am not the only Floof & Fur member of my family. My momma Ellie, sisters Jonesie and Ginger have also joined, but I'll let them introduce themselves on their own another day.

We also live with our short furred family members Bennette, Madison and Cecilia and our Woofie Grete.

Sweet Praline and myself has put ourselves up for nomination and we call upon all Floof and Fur members to do the same!

Hi, I am the other southern kitty who has recently been admitted to the club - Momo hailing from sunny Sydney, Australia. Thanks to the Zoolatry kitties and Samantha for the introduction and initiation.
I have been mieowing around the CB for over a year now and have met many of the lovely kitties who are already here.

I was a stray who took up residence with my SS (secretary-slave) about 10 years ago. Life is so good here that I have never ventured beyond the garden since.

Things that I like: Ham, cheese, chin scratchies, snuggling in SS's bed, sunning myself in the garden, surveying the surroundings from roof tops and trees.

Things that I dislike: Uninvited kitty intruders, loud noises, PTU, the vet!

I am a very cultured, sociable and adventurous kitty - I am involved in the show production of CCSI first as a actor, and now an executive; I 'travel' extensively with my friends to various exotic locations in the world on the Magic Flying Van and my own Magic Carpet; I love going to and giving parties!

Please feel free to visit me at my home and keep me company in my sunny little back garden where I laze and contemplate.

Hello everyone! My name is Fin and I am an eleven year old lady cat. I live in the desert of Nevada with my human parents Daddy and Mommy (who is also my ghostwriter and blog slave).

This is my first post on Floof and Fur (Mommy can be such a slacker). It sure is nice to be here among all the other floofy cats. I thought I might make my first post here about the things that bind us - floof! Here are some interesting facts about my floof:

I was almost not chosen by my parents because of my long fur! Luckily I was completely irresistible!
I barely shed at all my first year, but I have made up for it later.
Many of my floof hairs have multi-color bands, Mommy calls them raccoon hairs.
Due to all my colors I'm able to successfully leave my mark on any color outfit.
I have long guard hairs and then very soft underfloof. I'm told I feel like mink.
My underfloof can get easily matted, so I have to be very vigilant against Alphalpha hairs (you know the ones, they stick straight out like arrows of grooming humiliation).
I refuse to let Mommy brush me, so I manage all this by myself - well pretty much.
My Floofy Friday posts are often the most visited, and not the ones Mommy slaves over. So funny!
