Meet your floofy representatives

Things didn't go so well for the Floofies in the recent Cat President of the World elections, despite strong support early on for Cory and Sweet Praline. Despite this, the Floofy party still dominates the cabinet lineup. Lets meet them...

CORY

Secretary of Socks. 

This was a position that Cory personally requested. We weren't sure what the job would entail until she sent us this picture by way of explanation.

KIDDO

Minister of Housing. 

Kiddo's mission will be to ensure orphan and feral kittehs everywhere can find a loving home.

SWEET PRALINE

Minister of Floofy Affairs. 

Floofies have special needs, what with hairballs, knots, as well as leaves and stuff sticking to their tail, and with Sweet Praline's experience she's the top girl for the job.

MAGGY

Minister of Arts. 

Maggy's job will be to ensure that kittehs everywhere will look their best and be Photoshopped to maximum advantage.

HANSEL

Minister of Youth Affairs. 

Hansel will be the voice for the baby kittehs in this administration.

FIN

Secretary of the Interior. 

With a fondness for the indoors, Fin knows exactly what needs doing in this job.

COSMO

Chief Whip. 

Cosmo's job will to be to keep Coco's cabinet in line should the fur start flying.

Introducing Ginger

Hi! My name is Ginger and I'm a new member of Floof & Fur. My sister Cory is running for President representing the Floofie party. I have no personal interest in public service, I just want to hang out and be me.
I am about 5 or 6 years old. I came to live with my family in the fall of 2007. It was the end of September and I was discovered under a bush in the backyard. I was meowing a lot and telling my new human friends my whole life story. They asked me if I was hungry and gave me a bowl of food. I dove on it and inhaled everything in sight. That's when they discovered that under all my floof, I was really skinny. My ribs were sticking out. I weighed 10 pounds, but I now weigh between 15 and 16 pounds. I'm a big girl. They think I'm probably a Maine Coon. My new humans tried to see if anyone was looking for me, but no one was. It took me a long time to settle down about food. Now I'm pretty sure that I don't need to inhale anymore. I didn't do so well on my own. If you biggify my picture you can see that my ear is a bit shredded.

Rumor has it that I'm a bit of a drama queen. Everyone thinks it's fun to get a rise out of me. I admit that it's easy to do. I don't apologize for that.

Since I'm rather proud of my fur, here is a close up view of my belly fur!

Hi, my name is Cory and I'm a brand new member of Floof & Fur. I'm also running for President, although I'm not so sure about it. I think I'd rather be Secretary of Socks, but I'll leave that up to the voters.

I started my blog back in September. It took over a month for me to figure out there was something called the catblogosphere, so I was just writing for myself until The Creek Cats and Gandalf and Grayson came along to help me figure things out. I love all of the friends I have met.

When I was a weensy little baby, my momma Ellie and I were abandoned and left to fend for ourselves. My momma had 6 wee kittens to care for and we all survived. We were rescued by a nice rescue organization in Tillamook Oregon called United Paws and we were fostered by a nice lady named Judy. Our story and pictures were posted on petfinder.com and that is how my forever family found me. My momma and all my siblings were Siamese and I was the only one with all black fur. Which makes me part Meezer, part House Panther and part Floof and Fur! No one wanted to adopt me because the silly people advertised us as "Siamese" and I didn't quite fit. So when my mom and dad were adopting my momma Ellie, they couldn't bear to separate us, so both my momma and I both hopped into the carrier that took us to our forever home.

I have a weakness for my daddy's boot socks, small fruits and vegetables, bugs and aged cheddar. I also love to sing in the middle of the night when no one is watching. As I get older my fur gets floofier.

I am not the only Floof & Fur member of my family. My momma Ellie, sisters Jonesie and Ginger have also joined, but I'll let them introduce themselves on their own another day.

We also live with our short furred family members Bennette, Madison and Cecilia and our Woofie Grete.

Calling for nominations from the Floofy Party!

Unless you've been sleeping under a rock lately, you would have heard about Misha's quest to become Kitteh President. I wasn't going to put myself forward for nomination, but I can't stand the thought that the little $#&% mite win (I'd never hear the end uv it)!

Sweet Praline and myself has put ourselves up for nomination and we call upon all Floof and Fur members to do the same!

    

If you want to be in the running to be Kitteh Prez (trust me, the job is realli easy), this is all you have to do:

1. Go to ObamiconMe and create ur election poster like the ones above. If you has problems making ur poster (or you've got a busy snoozing schedule today), just let me know in the comments and I'll get my Campaign Managa/Mummy to make one for you.
   
2. Post the link to your poster in the comments below (or here).
   
3. Nominationz close Sunday 25th January 2009 NZT (that's Saturday for you Northern Hemisphere kittehs).
   
4. The most presidenshl looking cats as decided by an independent panel uv judges (Mummy and Mummy's neighbour) will be put up for election where you can vote for ur favouriet candidate.
   
5. Candidates will be given a special button to put on their blog for campaigning to direct their supporters to the voting booth.
   
6. Voting will open Monday 26th January 2009 and close Saturday 31st January 2009 NZT.
   
7. The winning candidate will be declared Cat President and will win the undying loyaltee and adoration from kittehs all ova the world for the next 4 years.
   

P.S. I was going to have a speshl challenge for Floofiez this weekend, but I'm postponing it till next weekend, as it's realli important that us Floofiez have representashun in the new administration.

Hi, I am the other southern kitty who has recently been admitted to the club - Momo hailing from sunny Sydney, Australia. Thanks to the Zoolatry kitties and Samantha for the introduction and initiation.
I have been mieowing around the CB for over a year now and have met many of the lovely kitties who are already here.

I was a stray who took up residence with my SS (secretary-slave) about 10 years ago. Life is so good here that I have never ventured beyond the garden since.

Things that I like: Ham, cheese, chin scratchies, snuggling in SS's bed, sunning myself in the garden, surveying the surroundings from roof tops and trees.

Things that I dislike: Uninvited kitty intruders, loud noises, PTU, the vet!

I am a very cultured, sociable and adventurous kitty - I am involved in the show production of CCSI first as a actor, and now an executive; I 'travel' extensively with my friends to various exotic locations in the world on the Magic Flying Van and my own Magic Carpet; I love going to and giving parties!
